"Working Together to Make a Difference"

August 2012

Dear Frontier Families,

Welcome to an exciting year at Frontier Elementary School!  The staff and I are pleased that you have entrusted your child’s education to us.  We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this year.  We work very hard to create an enriching learning environment that engages every student.  Frontier Elementary has an excellent teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge.  We also have an excellent support staff that work in different capacities to support your child’s learning.  Our vision is 100% student success.

Our goals for the 2012-2013 school year:

  • To promote high standards for student achievement - to have every child reach proficiency at grade level in reading and math.
  • To provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students - to monitor student behavior and classroom management and to improve school-wide discipline.
  • To encourage a positive rapport with the students, parents, community, administration and teachers.

I am also pleased to share that we teach school-wide “Guidelines for Success.”   The Guidelines are:  Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be responsible, Be Tolerant and Be an Active Learner.   Please ask your child to tell you what these character traits mean at Frontier.  Your child’s teacher and all staff members will model, teach and reinforce these positive traits.   At the end of each month, we have school-wide assemblies to recognize our children.   Families will be invited to attend this monthly character assembly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.  It is our mission to support your child in whatever way we can.   Our theme is "Working Together to Make a Difference."  We value the home-school connection and encourage you to be active in our school.  Please consider volunteering in our school as we work together to reach 100% student success.  We look forward to working side by side to ensure your child has a successful school year.

Sincerely,

Wendy Bryan
Principal
